Why a landfill-type leachate collection system?

• Release of heavy irrigation water directly below treatment zone requires the lengthy process of permit modification under Texas Pollutant Discharge Elimination System, even for clean leachate

• Leachate collection does not effect demonstration of technology or performance, and actually allows easier collection for assessing performance

• Once proven, PIMS-treatment of soils will not require a leachate collection system
