Photographs of Apatite II barrier box at Oak Ridge
The following photographs show the installation of a small barrier box with Apatite II sandwiched between clean sand layers at the Y-12 site in Oak Ridge adjacent to a larger subsurface wetlands treatment installation. The barrier box is treating a small portion of the contaminated groundwater before entering the wetlands and is instrumented to collect samples at various points within the barrier, the results of which are shown in the last three figures.
